• Hot-dipped galvanisation

Street furniture has an aesthetic role; however, it must first and foremost be resistant to outside attack. So, total rust protection means our products have a long life, are easy to install and maintain, and are good value for money.

Hot-dipped galvanisation
A sophisticated, eight-step process.
1: Alcaline degreasing: using baths of sodium carbonate or soda with added detergents and surface-active chemicals at 60-80ºC.
2: Rinsing with water
3: Stripping calamine and other oxides and deposits off in a hydrochloric acid solution at room temperature, with an added inhibitor to ward off future attacks.
4: Rinsing with water: each piece is washed in order to remove iron salts and traces of acid that would otherwise pollute the next step.
5: Fluxing: bathing in an aqueous zinc chloride solution at 60ºC in order to avoid the steel re-oxidising before before immersed in the zinc. The flux will decompose later in the zinc bath, so provoking a zinc-iron reaction.
6: Heat drying: in order to avoid zinc projections when the object is immersed.
7: Galvanisation: objects are bathed in zinc for a few minutes and heated to about 450ºC.
8: Cooling and checking.

Colouring with heat laquering
Heat laquering by polyester dusting isolates the material from air and water and is also decorative. It requires the following preparation:

Washing and degreasing to remove soluble zinc salts, and rinsing with water.
Drying and degassing at 250ºC.
Application, phosphatisation against corrosion and moisture and loss of the powder caused by static electricity.
Baking. The powder is transformed by a chemical reaction into a film which is exceptionally uniform and durable.
